Terms of service

The ground rules for using this website, sharing your writing here and joining our events. Short on purpose.

Version 2026-10-18Last updated 18 October 2026

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and Geetanjali – The Literary Society of NIFTEM Kundli (“Geetanjali”, “we”), a student club under the Student Activity Council of NIFTEM Kundli. Geetanjali is a student club of the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Kundli; it is not a separate company, trust or registered society. By using the website at https://geetanjali.niftem.in or registering for an event you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy and cookie policy.

The site is meant for NIFTEM students, alumni, faculty and guests of our events. You may use it if you are 18 or older, or if a parent or guardian has agreed to your use of it.

Accounts

  • Register with your real name and your own NIFTEM ID. One account per person; do not use someone else’s.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
  • We may ask you to prove who you are before linking a record or Google account to your name, and may suspend an account we reasonably believe is fake or misused.

Free to use

Geetanjali does not charge for membership, events, certificates or any feature of this site, and there are no hidden fees. If that ever changes for a particular event, the price and refund rules will be stated on that event’s page before you register, and the refund policy will be updated first. Nobody from Geetanjali will ask you to pay money to a personal account; if someone does in our name, please tell us.

Your writing and comments

  • It must be yours. Submit only work you wrote, or have clear permission to share. Do not copy other people’s writing or pass off AI-generated or plagiarised text as your own. Credit any sources you quote.
  • You keep the copyright. By submitting, you give Geetanjali a free, non-exclusive licence to display, share and archive your work on this website and on Geetanjali’s own social media pages and publications, with your name unless you chose to publish anonymously. We do not sell your work and will not hand it to anyone else to publish.
  • Editorial control. The committee reviews submissions. We may ask for changes, publish with small corrections for spelling or formatting, decline a piece, or take one down if it breaks these terms. We will tell you why where we can.
  • You can withdraw it. Delete or withdraw a submission from My submissions in your dashboard where that option is shown, or write to us, and we will remove it from the site. Copies already shared or cached elsewhere may remain; we will ask the pages we control to remove them.
  • Comments show your name and are your responsibility. We may remove comments that break these terms.

How to behave

Do not use the site to harass, threaten or demean anyone; to post anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or that invades another person’s privacy; to send spam; to impersonate someone; or to attack, probe or overload the site, scrape personal data from it, or get around its limits. Follow the rules of NIFTEM as well. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules, and may tell the institute where its rules are involved.

Events

  • Registering does not guarantee a seat. Events have limited capacity and sometimes a waiting list, and may be changed, moved or cancelled. We will tell registered people as soon as we can.
  • Attendance may be recorded by QR scan or a roll-number check at the door. Guests must give a true name and roll number.
  • Photos and videos are taken at events and may be published in our gallery and on social media. If you do not want to appear, tell a committee member or write to us, and we will take pictures down on request.
  • Institute rules apply at every event.

Points, certificates and rewards

Engagement points, leaderboard places, certificates and partner offers are small thanks from a student club. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are awarded at the committee’s discretion; we may correct a mistaken award. Partner offers are provided by the partner named on the offer, who is responsible for honouring it.

What belongs to whom

The Geetanjali name, logo and the design of this site belong to Geetanjali. The NIFTEM name and logo belong to the institute and appear here only to show that Geetanjali is one of its student clubs. Writing, photographs and artwork belong to their authors. The open-source libraries and fonts we use are listed with their licences on Credits & licences. If you believe something here infringes your rights, write to support@geetanjali.niftem.in and we will look into it promptly.

Our responsibility

We are student volunteers. The site and its content are provided “as is”, and we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to. To the extent the law allows, Geetanjali, its committee members and NIFTEM are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.

Ending your account

You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account through the data request form. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. What happens to your data is explained in the privacy policy.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If we cannot settle a disagreement by talking, the courts at Sonipat, Haryana have jurisdiction. Please write to us first; most problems are solved with an email.

Changes

We may update these terms. When the change matters we will change the version and date at the top and tell signed-in members. Using the site after a change means you accept it. Version 2026-10-18, last updated 18 October 2026.
