NIFTEM MUN 2025: Where Diplomacy Met Entrepreneurship | Geetanjali × CED at eSummit 2025
When diplomacy met entrepreneurship, two distinct student communities found common ground in dialogue, deliberation, and the exchange of ideas.
Some collaborations are defined by what they bring together. Others are remembered for the possibilities they create.
At NIFTEM Kundli, NIFTEM Model United Nations (MUN) 2025 marked one such coming together. Organised by Geetanjali – The Literary Society, in collaboration with the Cell for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), the conference was held as part of CED's flagship event, eSummit 2025, on 1–2 March 2025.
Bringing two distinct student-led initiatives onto the same platform, the collaboration connected the worlds of international diplomacy, policymaking, journalism, and entrepreneurship. It offered students an opportunity to engage with global affairs while experiencing the diverse interests that shape a vibrant academic community.
Geetanjali × CED: Two Perspectives, One Platform
The association between Geetanjali and CED brought together two different approaches to student engagement.
Geetanjali contributed the spirit of intellectual discourse, debate, diplomacy, and expression, while CED provided the larger entrepreneurial platform through eSummit 2025.
Although their pursuits differed, both shared an appreciation for ideas, initiative, and meaningful participation. Their collaboration demonstrated how student societies and institutional initiatives can work alongside one another without losing their individual identities.
It was not simply a matter of sharing an event space; it was about allowing two communities to bring their respective strengths to the same floor.
NIFTEM Model United Nations 2025: The Art of Dialogue and Diplomacy
At the centre of Geetanjali's participation was NIFTEM Model United Nations 2025, an academic simulation inspired by the workings of the United Nations.
MUN provides students with an opportunity to represent national perspectives, examine international issues, and engage in structured diplomatic discussions. It calls for preparation, informed argumentation, negotiation, and, above all, the ability to listen as much as one speaks.
The conference featured two distinct components: the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Press, each approaching global affairs from a different perspective.
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO): Advancing Sustainable Agrifood Systems
Agenda: Implementing the FAO Strategic Framework 2022–2031: Integrating Technology and Innovation into Agrifood Systems to Increase Sustainability and Productivity.
Food security and agricultural sustainability remain central to the international development agenda. Against this backdrop, the FAO committee placed technological advancement and innovation at the heart of its deliberations.
The agenda invited delegates to examine how nations could integrate emerging technologies into agrifood systems while addressing sustainability, productivity, and the challenges facing global agriculture.
For NIFTEM, an institution rooted in food technology and management, the subject carried particular academic relevance. It connected the world of international diplomacy with the realities of food systems, agricultural development, and global cooperation.
The discussions reflected an important principle: sustainable food systems require not only technological progress but also informed policy, international understanding, and collective responsibility.
International Press: The Voice Behind the Dialogue
Agenda: Inviting Reporters and Photographers.
Every diplomatic conversation has another dimension: the responsibility to document, interpret, and communicate it.
The International Press brought journalism and photography into the NIFTEM MUN experience, offering a platform for aspiring reporters and photographers to document committee proceedings and capture the defining moments of the conference.
Through reporting, photography, and event coverage, the press component highlighted the importance of accurate communication and responsible journalism.
While delegates engaged in diplomacy, the International Press ensured that the proceedings were viewed through the lens of observation and storytelling.
Beyond Debate: An Exercise in Leadership and Perspective
NIFTEM MUN 2025 extended beyond formal committee discussions. It offered students an opportunity to develop skills essential to leadership and international engagement.
Research, public speaking, negotiation, critical thinking, media communication, and the ability to appreciate differing perspectives formed an integral part of the experience.
More importantly, the conference encouraged participants to recognise that disagreement need not prevent understanding. In diplomacy, progress often begins with the willingness to consider another perspective.
eSummit 2025: When Different Communities Share Common Ground
Being part of CED's flagship eSummit 2025 gave NIFTEM MUN a broader institutional setting.
The collaboration between Geetanjali and CED reflected the value of bringing different student initiatives together. Entrepreneurship and diplomacy may operate in different spheres, yet both rely on initiative, informed decisions, communication, and the courage to question established ideas.
Their association added a distinctive dimension to eSummit 2025, demonstrating how interdisciplinary collaboration can enrich campus life and create opportunities for students to engage beyond their immediate academic interests.
Geetanjali – The Literary Society, NIFTEM Kundli
For Geetanjali – The Literary Society, NIFTEM MUN 2025 was an extension of its commitment to creating spaces for expression, discussion, and intellectual engagement.
Through literary activities, debates, open-mic events, and Model United Nations conferences, Geetanjali encourages students to explore ideas, develop their voices, and engage with perspectives beyond the classroom.
Its collaboration with CED at eSummit 2025 was a reflection of that spirit: bringing different communities together while creating room for dialogue, diplomacy, and shared learning.
Two Communities. One Shared Floor. A Lasting Conversation.
NIFTEM MUN 2025 brought together the diplomatic spirit of Geetanjali and the entrepreneurial ecosystem of CED under the larger platform of eSummit 2025.
From deliberations on sustainable agrifood systems in the FAO committee to the reporting and documentation efforts of the International Press, the conference offered students different ways to engage with global issues.
For both communities, the collaboration represented the value of working across disciplines, sharing platforms, and recognising the strength of different perspectives.
In the end, the essence of diplomacy lies not merely in representing a position, but in understanding others. And the essence of collaboration lies not in being alike, but in finding common ground.
