Great romantic fictional stories are captivating and soothing with amazing plots, touchy dialogues & heart-warming emotions which keep you enthralled. In this genre the plot centers around a love relationship: a central love story and an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending.. Romance fictions may have any tone or style, have varying levels of sensuality—ranging from sweet to extremely hot and be set in any place or time. These settings and distinctions of plot creates specific subgenres within romance fiction. These subgenres include fantasy, gothic, contemporary, historical romance, paranormal fiction & science fiction.
In the genre of Romantic Fiction there are two strict criteria: The first is that the story must focus on the relationship and romantic love between two people. Secondly, the end of the story must be positive, leaving the reader believing that the character's love and relationship will endure for the rest of their lives.
Some readers of old genre romances may only like a story with a happy ending, and on the other hand there are some readers that may argue that you shouldn't force that preference onto a definition of the form. Because, by removing the tragic romances like the iconic Romeo & Juliet from that definition we could be doing a disservice to romances as a respectable literary style.
In 2016, romance based novels made up 23% of the overall US fiction market, second only to General Fiction. In a study by RWA commissioned "The Romance Book Buyer 2016 ,it is found that about 82% of the reading audience of romantic fictions are females, and the rest 18% are males, although it has a rapidly growing number of male audience too.
Although romance fiction is that aura of the literary world which excites the chase and captures the eternal imprisonment of your heart. It is substantial enough for the reader to say “I care about these people and conditions which transpire them, despite the circumstantial and personal obstacles that war keeps them apart”.
