TW: The piece contains mentions of psychological disorders, anxiety and bullying
She has a calm demeanor, but a psychotic aura about her. She seems harmless, but so many stories about her. For she's mentally sick, a psycho... and something so fundamentally wrong.
She doesn't talk to me, but I know. For broken souls read each other, and broken minds know each other
I don't have her disease, but for some reason, my nails seem shorter than yesterday. My mind aches to know solitude, not from people, but its thoughts.
I don't approach her, but I can see her pain, reflected in me. We are just legible to ourselves, no one else can understand us, not even each other.
And so goes on life, my nails growing shorter for my anxiety, and hers growing longer in her insanity. While she loses her thoughts, I'm filled with them, and I'm shamefully jealous of her
She's treated like an animal, her muffled mutters met by mockery, her stoic face met by stones. She doesn't understand what's going on, but she feels the pain. Her nerves tell her how she's being beaten, and her heart tells her how she's being mocked.
She retreats to her house, with no inkling of a happy life, with no memories of her psychotic behavior and no recollection of her past.
I stand there, my feelings for her dissipating. They're not of love or hate, merely pity for a being that's the same as me. Misunderstood as me
